A Little Boy Named Wojtek

There was a little boy, Woytek – 3 years old, who’s so cute but annoying at the same time. Woytek is a common Polish name (i guess). 3 of my 6 weeks, this little boy used to say “Idz” means “Go Away!”, “Nie” means “No!”, and “Ja Sama” means “I’ll do it by myself” to me, every single time I tried to approach. I thought he was a naughty boy who liked to annoy me, he fancied pulling my hijab, my shirt, everything that can be pulled. And I was like, “Ok, he’s just a boy just let him happy”.

On the 4th week, he slowly tried to start a conversation with me eventho I had no idea what he was saying because he speaks Polish. But still, When I asked, “Is the food delicious” in Polish to the kids, he will always reply “NIEEE” loudly. When I offered something, he’d say “NIEEEE!”. And I was like “Ok, bye”…..

The moment when I tried to don’t give a damn about him, he started – slowly – came to me and ask for help. He asked me to take off his shirt, he asked for more food, he asked me about anything.

Can you imagine the feeling? Oh my God. I was extremely happy. He was the hardest boy to approach (Yap, there are many little girls that even harder to approach). But I managed it!

On my very last week, my 6th week, on nap time. All the lights were off. He couldn’t sleep and stare at me without saying anything. He’s so cute I swear.

I came to him. Slowly gave him a head rub, and I lie next to him. Slowly he put his hands to my head under my hijab. He spoke softly to me, but I can’t get a word. From this moment, I think I knew something. He’s been curious what’s under my hijab.

And the next day when nap time, he’ll call me softly… “Ciocia kenyiiii…..” aw my baby. I came to him and then he put my hand on his blonde hair….

And, on my last day, last nap time with my baby boy I rub his head and pretended to sleep. I let him play his finger with my nose, cheeks, and eyes.

I miss him. Please, when you grow up please don’t forget me – Ciocia KenyiiiS__45007234.
