2016 to 2017
2016 was the best year for me, so far of course. So many new unpredictable experiences that I’ve been trough. And I’ve learned many valuable things. In 2015, I didn’t even expect that my 2016 going to be this awesome. In this post, I’m going to list everything that happened in my 2016:
✓ Joined an international youth organization that gives me a volunteer exchange experience across the globe, which was the best decision I’ve ever made. I haven’t tell you anything about my volunteer exchange experience in Poland, just wait for it. I’m still working on it.
✓ Learned how to deal with toddlers. That was so challenging. How to catch their attention, how to get them, how to communicate with them, etc. Communicating with the kids was my main problem since they don’t speak Bahasa nor English and I don’t speak Polish. That was really hard at the beginning but day by day they started to act very sweet to me, speak to me even thou I couldn’t get any word. Awww they were so cute.
✓ Yolo travel to Prague. The first YOLO trip with Milk and Jane. Our lives depended on a paper map. Not a google map. Like a primitive traveler wkwkwk. Because at that time none of us knew how to use offline google map. That was insane but we did it anyway. Yuuuhu.
✓ Travel to Europe. To be honest, in 2015 I didn’t have any plan to travel so faaaar away from home. First, I thought my parents will never let me travel alone. Second, It was like impossible to force my parents to let me travel to Europe by myself. That’s why I’ve never ever had any plan traveling to Europe. But then magic happened.
✓ Since I travel alone, I am so grateful that I’ve met many new friends there. From all over the world. Poland, Korea, Thailand, Turkey, United States, Singapore, India, and Russia. That’s why I said that I’ve made a decision that I will never regret.
✓ My Ied Fitr 1437 H was totally awesome because I celebrated it with new friends, new location, new people, new food, same way. I’ve met Muslims from many countries such as Afghanistan, Lebanon, Turkey, Russia, Suria, Ghana, and also couple Indonesians who work in Indonesia Embassy. No Ketupat, Rendang, Opor, nor Sate Padang but their traditional cookies was good tho. The people were so sweet and nice.
✓ In 2016 I’ve traveled up to 8 EU Countries, 15 cities. Amazing. Well, to be honest, I didn’t expect that I would see Chopin Monument, Eiffel Tower, Colosseum, Parliament Building of Budapest, Brandenburger Tor, Schönnbrunn Palace, Windmills and many other beautiful Palaces and Churches in this year.
✓ I’m so proud of myself because in this year I traveled from Paris – Amsterdam – Rotterdam – Almere – Volendam – Vienna – Hallstatt – Vienna to Warsaw, completely alone. All by myself. I’m so happy that in Europe, the public transportation is well organized, easy to reach, and has many options available. Well, I won’t hesitate anymore to travel by myself in the future.
✓ Apart from that, I’m so happy that I can see the smile from my parents and siblings and touch them.
Okay, 2017, let’s make another best year! I can hear fireworks and trumpet from here.
Tbh, I don’t have any resolution for the new year. Never ever. Because I’m not kind of person who likes to write down a list of things that need to be done for myself in a year. Because… it’s useless (for me). No, it’s because I always try to be a better person each day. I always pray to God for everything every day. Besides, I let everything flow freely. Because unplanned things are the best. Except for unplanned pregnancy. Lol. I’m a realistic person so if I want it, I definitely will pursue it as hard as I can, sacrifice anything that I have for it. After that, let Allah decide what’s best for me.
